Kirsten Bode is a revolutionary hair and makeup artist living between Stockholm, Sweden and New York City. With a deep passion to illuminate unseen beauty, Kirsten has built a career uniting the multiple disciplines of film, photography, runway, and styling. Kirsten has established herself as a consummate professional renowned for her historical precision, meticulous attention to detail, and charismatic energy that allows her collaborators to embody their artistic visions.
The daughter of a Paramount Pictures set painter and a hair stylist, she came from a family of artists and at an early age was inspired on the sets of major motion pictures to pursue a life in the arts. Throughout her ambitious career, she has had the privilege of collaborating with esteemed celebrities, photographers, and models including Paris Hilton, Niki Taylor, Mark Mann, George Holz, Alan Cumming, Sam Smith, Chrissy Teagan and many others.
Initially embarking on her journey in San Francisco, she was noticed by stylist Michelle Fiona who invited Kirsten to New York City to work on the Off-Broadway musical "The Citizens Band". It was here where she refined her skill and passion for time period work, as well as being introduced into theater where she found her artistic resonance. In New York she also worked as a session stylist at top salon Bumble and Bumble. Here, she collaborated with industry leaders Jimmy Paul and Laurent Philippon, catalyzing a movement towards fashion and runway. With her twenty years of experience ranging from hair cutting, wig-styling and coloring, as well as film & television hair and makeup; she has become a dynamic figure in the field, leaving an indelible mark on every project she helps create.
During her fifteen year career in New York, Kirsten has become emboldened to expand her visions beyond the brush and has since blossomed as an artist, creating as a photographer and director. With a film produced and directed in Stockholm featured at the renowned film festival SXSW in March 2024, she continues to grow her voice as an artist, aligning her multidisciplinary talents into a chorus of expression.
